Seminar Aftermath

The Las Vegas Practical Profits Seminar has come and gone… Wow did it go great. Wow was it exhausting!

We had a full house with almost all 100 people who signed up for the seminar actually attending. The live stream went about as flawless as it could given the massive amount of people we had on the stream.

It wasn’t without its hiccups, as anything of these magnitudes go.

Looking at the seminar itself, you might wonder why I and my mastermind were crazy enough to try to pull something like this off. The fee was a ridiculous $97 to get in. There was no pitching… All content.

Clearly, there was no money being made on our part from this event, ESPECIALLY when you consider the time obligations required. So what was the “angle” for such a thing?

Mainly, it was BOTH a customer appreciation event and a long term strategy. I can’t remember the exact numbers, but I think 93% said they would have paid $197 or MORE to attend (based on our survey results).

That’s cool, isn’t it? In marketing, we call that differentiation. Why should someone stay on my list and read my emails in the future? Because I’m one of the few that would go to great lengths to put on such an event. Smart and a lesson for you to consider using in your own business. (Engineer such fantastic deals from time to time so people absolutely look forward to receiving your communications.)

There were other secret “sly” reasons to do such an event. For example, I counted at least 15 attendees at the seminar who do at least 6 figures a year, and at least 5 attendees at the event (NOT SPEAKERS but people who paid) who make more money a year than I do.

I like meeting these people, because clearly I have something to offer them that they come to me for. I want to know how I can serve them better so they come to me more often and invest in my products and services more frequently. The best way I know for doing that is meeting and talking with them at a seminar.

I was telling someone at the seminar that the value in that room – when you added up speakers and presenters – could be translated into many, many millions of dollars based on products everybody at the event had sold.

Easily tens of millions of dollars a year people in that room move in products. That means if you JUST started Internet marketing, you could go to this event and have mingled with millions and millions of dollars of ideas.

Another “secret” reason:  seminars are the greatest customer research you can ever get. I listen. I watch. I observe. I look for problems that seminar attendees talk with me and to each other about.  When I come home I have a whole list of products and services I plan on creating that I know are guaranteed winners.

Now let’s talk about happy accidents. There’s an interesting phenomenon that occurs in business. Here’s how it works: you set out to do X, having high expectations for X. X doesn’t pan out the way you like, but while doing X, you notice that one aspect of it, almost by accident, seems to get the most results or response.

If it worked so well on accident, imagine how it would do as a deliberate strategy… Let’s take it further – any time you’re doing a lot of stuff, something will, by luck or accident, pop out and say – “Hey I’m an easy six figure side business if you treat me right”.

You can’t find these things. You can’t research them. You can’t plan them. You can only do so many different things so that eventually one pops out at you.

I got two such accidents this weekend that I know with little effort and execution on my part will translate into at least $200,000 additional revenue in my pocket. I like that.

Another benefit I often forget about – affirmation that you’re doing it right. I believe over 60 people came up to me and wanted their picture taken with me. That’s awesome. Several people came up to me and told me that I had drastically improved their life… And some I honestly think were happier to meet me for the first time in person than they would their favorite celebrity. Cool.

It’s good to be reminded IN PERSON that there are a lot of people who want you to do more of what you’re already doing, which always gets me fired up when I get back home to take the business up another level.

Sometimes it also awakens you to the difference between success and failure. Let me illustrate it to you with a story.

It’s Friday night at midnight. I speak the next day. I go down to the casino bar looking to network. Guess who is down there? 5 other people.

That’s it. Sigh…

One of the other people was this guy named Colin Theriot who I actually consider to be one of the greatest up and coming email marketing guys in the game. I’m down there picking HIS brain for every tip I can get to help in my business.

I’m there myself to learn. If I can always use more insights to apply to my business model, where was everyone else? Dare I say they were sleeping? GASP! I slept on the plane ride home, when there was no action taking place. NOT when there was the potential for all kinds of action.

So here we are – 6 of us at the bar… Masterminding, discussing ideas and so forth. We stay there till… 5:30 AM in the morning!

For hours I answered any and all questions, from anyone who asked, about how I run my business. I answered questions from those who asked specific things related to their own businesses.

I said the next day that I literally gave away $1000 in consulting time at the bar the night before. It was true. Don’t you wish you would’ve been there?

Let’s back up.  In the niche we’re all a part of (Internet marketing) there are two MAIN kinds of buyers for the most part. There are those who are beginners and need a LOT of education because they’re just starting out. Then there are those who are very successful who still buy almost everything because they practice the principle of the SLIGHT edge.

Here I am, having to speak the next day, also do the Q & A, and more and I’m down until 5:30 in the morning gathering information, getting more insight into my business with the answers I give to questions, and establishing contacts and potential business ventures when I arguably need it least.

That’s the SLIGHT edge.

Now to bring it home. Big picture question:  Can you get rich quick by going to a seminar like the one we just put on? Surprisingly, yes you can. It depends on “quick”. I did it in 6 months after I got focused.

I’m also slightly insane with my desire to succeed. Still. They say work smart, not hard. Pfui… If you want to do big things fast, you work HARD & SMART. Sometimes though, you get that tunnel vision in your business…

That’s when you bop on down to a seminar which helps you know where you’re currently at – and where you need to go to hit your business goals.

Again a sterling performance – damn the naysayers, as you said you can always catch up on sleep – and Stew I was up at 3 am and only sorry the streaming wasn’t 48 hours – learn to catnap it worked for Winston Churchill and Maggie Thatcher!

And having had glitches too with the Power Point display, what a superb piece of software – when it came up it worked seamlessly to do a quick recce back to see what had been missed – I just loved it.

As to how many were on the stream, who cares I was and it was the most fun weekend I have had for a while.

Thanks to everyone – back to work!

  2. Wow, Jason!
I bought the streaming vid but had a family issue that required me to be in a hospital setting without a good link… It hurts to know what I missed but I know you will be doing another one that’ll give me the opportunities that everyone here is talking about! I’ll come with a good supply of “5-Hr Energy” so I don’t miss out on anything! It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have found you and I echo another member who wondered where you were last year…no worries—we’ll just make up for lost time and get deliverables that actually deliver! You are awesome! I hope your GF/wife and beautiful baby girl are doing great too!

  3. Steve Miller says:

I was fortunate enough to make the seminar, but mad as hell that I missed the consulting afterwards. CRAP! My Bad! I will just echo and reiterate what everyone else is saying, and that is that the seminar was jam-packed with valuable information that will help any internet marketer. I was exhaused from trying to take in so much info. It was litterally like drinking from a fire hose. I’m looking forward to the replay, so I can process the details. It was a pleasure to meet and mingle with all the presenters, you and the crew were suprisingly approachable and willing to share everything! Thank You! Lastly for anyone considering buying access to the recorded version. DO IT! You will NEVER get more REAL information for less money!

  4. Stew Shaw says:

Jason – thanks for taking the time to respond to my earlier somewhat negative comment. Here’s my positive response to your input!

No doubt about it – you guys (& gal) sure as hell raised the IM seminar bar by streaming the whole event via Wil’s spiffy new interface which I expect will be turned into a product that we can all grab someday for our own events. Hint: big discount please! A pity it was only during your presentation the wheels sorta came off a bit, but no worries really. We’ll get to see all your slides later hopefully.

Yes you ended up stretching yourself with volunteering for that closed door session, and I think that, plus your lack of sleep, took the edge off of your talk. The script called for you to be dancing in the aisles! [But tell us, what went so wrong at the official VIP dinner? Intrigued that whatever happened caused you organizers to be so embarrassed about.]

What I admire most about you is that you take such massive action, and do so incredibly efficiently. That’s the sort of inspiration I need. Hey, you’ve already released a product since the seminar.

You already know this, but the cleverest marketing coup of the event was having it “no-pitch.” But you’re all marketers – how hard must it have been to refrain from dropping a product name or two of your own. Anyways, here’s why it was clever: Through sheer osmosis (or some other mysterious process) I’ve already signed for products from 2 of the speakers, with more to come for sure.

See you live at your next event – and count me in on the unofficial networking/masterminding sessions too!

  5. Ron says:

Jason I was also on the live stream and loved it. I did want to crawl through my computer somehow and be there in person, but such is life. Looking forward to watching it again and picking up more nuggets.

Live streams are great, but we don’t get in on the networking ~ and that is where the real gold is!

I implemented a couple of ideas I learned on the stream on one of my sites and had my best week ever.

    Thanks!

  6. Patricia says:

Very cool, Jason. One of the things about you that is so great is that no only do you over-deliver, not only does it all simply reek of quality, but you’re a fabulous role model as well.

  7. Roger Due says:

Although I wasn’t able to attend in person, I truly appreciated the Live Stream. As soon as the replays are available I will go through all of them. I was able to gain different perspectives that will help my businesses grow. I have done a lot of research and studying and am now starting to take action with implementation. One area that I am focusing on is local businesses that need websites and Google Places help. Thanks.

  8. Hey Jason,

Really glad to hear that it was a success. I wish i was able to make that one. Hopefully, you guys will have another one in a great venue such as Vegas again fairly soon. Awesome to hear there were big marketers there as well.
Just curious, can you drop a few other big names that may have attended?

    Good Stuff,

  9. David Thomas says:

I haven’t been to one yet, but I will. I posted in Earn1KaDay forums recently that it will not be one run by the big gurus, but it will be one along the lines of what you did or what Dennis does. No pitch will be key.

I didn’t buy the video stream for this one, because I thought the content would be much the same as was the case for the Earn1KaDay 2010 one, which I have bought, and because, as you say, the real value in these events lies in the networking opportunities rather than the content itself (although that is in itself valuable).

Anyway, time to get back to work.

  10. Jay Author says:

Hi Jason, you were really a star in the seminar as a majority of us wanted to spend time with you and you were always surrounded by a group of people. Colin is really lucky as he could spend 5 hours with you in the bar! What a great seminar!!!

  11. Karen Porter says:

WOW – WHAT an event! The best two days I’ve ever spent in a seminar. No, I didn’t make it to the bar — but I did go back to my room and started mapping out my action plan.

I’v heard rumblings about another event this fall? If that is in the works, I hope we can hear about it soon. I’ll want to clear the calendar well in advance.

One other thought? Even in a “small” group of 100, it’s hard to circulate as much as you’d like to and get acquainted with folks that might be great collaborative partners or otherwise helpful to one another in some capacity. Is there any chance that we might have some kind of a Practical Profits forum where we could share where we are with our IM businesses, our expertise, where we need help, etc? It would be so terrific to have a resource to continue networking with other like-minded people in an interactive manner outside of the seminar itself.

Thanks to the entire team who gave of themselves so freely and were such inspiration to us all! You all totally ROCK!

  12. Roger Rowe says:

    Jason,

Thanks for the mountain of info in Vegas.

Looking froward to the next one.

    Roger

  13. kara says:

man Jason… the unanimous agreement on the part of everyone I nudged to attend the stream… as did I… was… that event was WORD!

The Rhodes bros were the “biz professional-engineer-type-geek, brilliant, nice guys” with some great info.

Tim was an absolute hoot, with a genius all his own – and if the internet ever goes down, he’s got a career at Comedy Central

Wil is the Mr. Wizard of technology and delivered a brilliant presentation on webinars.

James is like the uncle everyone hopes to have – smart, constant and dedicated. Nice tips there too.

Rachel was the may-pole of estrogen who held her own beautifully as all y’all testosterone streamers wrapped your knowledge around and through her expertise with outsourcing (she gave a lot of great info there)…

    and Jason, you,

according to my little group of “warrior hommies”, you were the Alpha dog… who was rarely seen until day 2, and left a very memorable impression.

Were you using NLP mojo or hypnnsis on the audience? :D
Thanks for that strategic game-plan of yours you so freely shared with us.

Seriously, what an awesome team came together for an incredible event. It was like a geometric expansion of the cumulative knowledge of everyone in the group. So cool. Glad I at least got to the stream.

And hopefully, next time… LIVE. That networking opportunity is invaluable.

Thanks again to you and every presenter for putting this event together!

  14. Hey Jason,

Like some of the other folks, I’m from the UK so I was watching in when I got a chance.

The content alone seemed great stuff (and I’m looking forward to seeing the rest on replay) but now I’m jealous I missed the real thing. Vegas AND drinking, two of my favourite things.

    Oh well, next time!

    Martin

  15. Urs Müller says:

    Hi
Just want to add another THANK YOU to all. I was also one of the “streamers”. Could not watch it all and will be go over it again when its online.

    Urs

  16. That was OFF THE HOOK! Unbelievable! No words Can Describe the Energy in that room! I was in the back row with my father. He is not in the Internet Marketing Business and he even enjoyed it! I didn’t even feel like I was at a seminar. I felt like we were having a lunch and learn session with a bunch of friends and associates. I will email you a cool pic we all took in the hallway. We look like a bunch of IM Gangsters! LOL.

  17. Celie says:

Wish I had been at the bar, or indeed in the US. Living on a tiny island in the English Channel – Guernsey – is mostly great, but attending seminars even in the UK of which there are not many, is a bit of a trek, planes boats and trains all needed. Thank heaven for webinars and replays, thanks Jason I love your stuff.

  18. Stew Shaw says:

Nice post, Jason “who always speaks his mind” Fladlien.

Allow me to speak mine too, since you wondered what we thought. I was one of the less than 100 streamers (not a “massive amount of people”, Jason, unless the live numbers revealed to us over the audio were bogus, and certainly well less than a tenth of those on the FREE test broadcast the week before), glued to my flatscreen the whole 2 days. It was great content, you assembled a pretty handy team and you all delivered.

    Yet…

You berated the 95 attendees who weren’t networking at the bar at midnight and then on ’til 5:30 AM. But the next day you yourself admitted to having a fuzzy mind which appeared to affect the sharpness of your responses in the Q&A. And during your presentation you accused the audience of being asleep at the wheel when you asked for answers and feedback and got none. I wonder why? Hint: Put yourself 1st on the program next time instead of last if you want to see “eat out of your hand” enthusiasm!

Jason, we are all different. Physically, including the need for sleep, etc. Our needs are different. Our goals are different. As a marketer, glorify our uniqueness please. Don’t criticize it. Yes passion is often a big factor in being able to go the second mile, and last the distance. It explains why I tuned into the stream STARTING at 2am my time. How many other Aussies were doing the same – going completely without normal sleep – I wonder? That’s passion. Sure I’d paid my $97 and could have said ‘What the heck, I’ll catch the replays.’

Finally here’s my 5c worth on why seminar attendees don’t freely mingle and network outside seminar hours? I’ve been to 2 IM events in Vegas. Both times I had intentionally wanted to network and form mutually beneficial friendships with people who were already successful online. Yet I found it hard to break into established friendships. That’s if you could find seminar attendees in Vegas at night! By their nature, seminar programs are Go, Go, Go and breaks are limited in duration.

I dunno – maybe one day I’ll organize a completely no-speaker seminar in Vegas. We’ll all mingle at the bar, all hours. Bring your smartphone, Flip and a pillow.

    Cheers, Stew

    My Response:

Stew, great stuff I just couldn’t resist answering back. There are around 100 streamers on the call and if I said massive amount of people, I meant massive amount of data for a stream (live video is a bandwidth killer).

Perhaps I “berated” people in my blog post, or motivated them. Depends on your view point. What I intended was to motivate so they could get more out of the next seminar. Here’s why I did that: 30+ people told me the next day they regret not having come down for a bit after they found out about our late night networking. I didn’t want that to happen again.

Here’s what’s interesting – I ended up stretching myself a little to thin. I didn’t expect to do an after lunch, 1 hour non stop closed door q and a with the VIPS in attendance directly before my presentation. I pushed myself a little too much, so I overdid it on the other end. However, I can tell you that it’s better to over-do it a little bit than to under-do it a LOT.

  19. RB says:

Jason that was a GREAT seminar. I really didn’t expect a whole lot from a $97 dollar marketing seminar but I was pleasantly surprised. I learned a ton and was also “reminded” of a bunch of valuable stuff I’d forgotten over the years. Thanks a lot man. (Please try to put together another West Coast event soon!)

  20. Matt Thomas says:

I’ve made more money on deals at the blackjack tables in vegas then all the face to face meetings with company Presidents combined. You are spot on with your insight from my experience. And now back to building this new line of business…

  21. One of the best seminars. And refreshing that it wasn’t over-pitched. Pure content.

And not just pure… but good content! Contrasting opinions, but all offered with an honest effort to help attendees build a powerful business.

Thanks, Jason, for all your efforts. It was a class event! I recommend it to anyone who wants to build an online business.

  22. June Parker says:

I paid for the live stream, but wasn’t able to be home to watch it. Involved in a political campaign to try to get Luke Martland elected into the NY State Senate primary.

I was already committed to this when I realized the conflict of dates for the Vegas live stream.

Sometimes you have to make choices and take action. I have committed myself to help end the corruption in the state of New York; consequently am looking forward to the recording that I missed.

Regardless of my personal beliefs, people must take action and commit themselves. It doesn’t matter if you are broke or if you already have a some what comfy living…. take action.

If you don’t like where you are at….

Make a commitment to change it!

James Jones, Jason, Tim and Rachael (forgive me if I have neglected anyone or if there are typos & misspellings) but I am also burnt from the campaign I have committed to.

Without even seeing the recordings yet, I know they will be awesome. I have learned so much from these people.

James Jones has helped me and stuck by me for many years. He has been a friend and adviser. Because of him I am now in communication with Jason, Tim and Rachael.

    The bottom line is this….

    Believe in yourself

As long as YOU are willing to succeed

  23. Bill Davis says:

I was one of the six and let me just tell you, the whole experience rocked! If (when!) you get another chance at this, DROP EVERYTHING and just do it. The whole panel was extraordinarily open and willing to discuss any IM topic. Heck, even non-IM topics (but everything relates).

I got to meet a whole lot of really smart and successful people with fires in their bellies, including Colin up above (a truly special talent and funny, too). The room was dripping in intelligence and success and hopefully some of that rubs off and multiplies!

Thanks, Jason, for doing all that you did! You are truly somebody I look to for ideas, motivation, and humor. The panel you all put together was top-notch and I cannot wait for the recordings (I took notes but nothing could capture the experience of being there and getting to review it later for reinforcement).

  24. Scott Love says:

    Jason,

Great info. I was at another event (networking like crazy) or I would have been there in the bar with you.

I really hope you guys thought it was worthwhile so you will plan another one. Let me (ok, us) know early so I can get it on the calendar.

    Scott…

  25. Hey Jason,

Cool insights into the whys of the seminar.

Just bought your webinar secrets product. Great job! No fluff!

@Colin We tend to be “lone wolves” in this biz, especially those of us with virtual teams working from a home office. Seminars are a great place to connect with others and swap ideas (especially in the bar!)

Hope to make the next event! (dare I say it!)

    Howard

  26. Hi Jason,

I dont know where you had been all my life… hheheheh

Seriously, I bought your first product (Facebook Fan Pages)
reluctantly, because I mistakenly thoght you were a different
    Jason…

But when I saw your style, and where you come from,
I have found a lot of things that I can model
because I have a background in NLP, and coaching
with Anthony Robbins, and Law Of Attraction…

But your approach helps me SIMPLIFY and PUT INTO
PRACTICE tons of things… and it will be an
honor meeting you eye to eye one day soon.

    Un fuerte abrazo de luz,

    Rafa

PS. And thanks to you and Mary Jo for the
superb support service you offer!! It’s a 10!!

  27. Jeff Bode says:

Hey Jason sounds like a great time… I wanted to come, but already had a going away party for one of my best friends planned – I’m sure I drank more than you… I got the video & pictures to prove it (plus the terrible hang over – not good)

Anyways, I watched the live stream which was great… I think I’m a ‘slight edge’ kind of guy as well

  28. Thank You Jason for allowing me to attend. I loved every minute of it. My mind is still swimming with all the great information shared. Next time You plan Vegas let me know to see if I can help you out ahead of time.

    Eleanor

  29. Sam England says:

    Jason,

Sorry I didn’t get to make it last weekend, had other plans…

I love going to seminars because of the networking that happens at them, especially at the bars late late at night… :)
    Remember the Warrior Event 2009?

Would love to see you guys put one on the East Coast…soon…
and if you need help I am always up to volunteering my services…

Anyway, keep it real my friend.

    Sam England

  30. Ray La Foy says:

    Jason

Great Event and Great Hotel Location!
I come to these events because of the people…

Our business is about people because behind
every email is a person with certain wants and needs.

I was able to meet up with a couple of my own members
in fact. They both provided me invaluable insight into
    my own programs..

Being able to spend time with you, Colin, Tim,
as well as the rest of the speakers and attendees,
provides a different prospective on my own business
    model.

As you say, a person can get so tunnel visioned
that you can be passing opportunity by – a seminar
can positively add that important alternative prospective
that visiting with like minded individuals provides.

Thanks for the putting this on and giving
    us all the opportunity.

    Ray

  31. Hi Jason,

I also was one of the “streamers” and the only time I would be annoyed was when they decided to turn the sound off during the breaks. I just love listening to the side chatter. Isn’t this what we do a real gatherings. If you are not to sure what to ask, you listen to the others convers with the person you want to learn from. Learning we did, or at least I did. I need to ask you one thing and have you give me an answer if you would. I cannot seem to stop trying to do to much at one time and in trying to do to much, I get nothing done. It is so darn frustrating that I know where I want to go with it, I just can’t get it started. When you head is full of stuff, how do you separate it down to the working parts? Hope you understand what I am asking. Here it is Tuesday and still going over the part notes wondering where to begin. One way or the other, I am going to get there. Fantastic seminar and yes I would like to meet you in person. You may not be Megan Fox, but then again,, I am not looking at her for marketing tips…haha

Thanks again, Jason and continued success…

  32. Pat says:

    For the Doubting Thomas es

This was truly a great seminar, these guys put their heart into it and I’ve got a notebook full of ideas to take massive action on.

It was also entertaining Tim Castleman had me in stitches, that guy missed his calling or did he?

Rhodes brothers constantly and relentlessly spilling their ideas and concepts.

The beautiful soft spoken Rachel Rofe, an amazing lady who shoots from the hip. Passed on some gold in the form of insider info nuggets as I sat beside her for the amazing dinner at the Brazilian Steak House.

Wil Matso truly amazing guy. Definitely lays it on the line with step by step formula that proved anyone can profit using Webinars.

Jason, what can I say about this guy that Tim Castleman didn’t cover. He’s simply magic. I’ve never met anyone so absorbed and passionate. He’s someone you want to follow very closely.

And the grand master himself James Jones, left no stone unturned. James was acknowledged by every speaker their as their main influence, do I need to say any more. I think not.

If you have the opportunity to attend a seminar with these marketers in the future I suggest you hop on it. You won’t be disappointed. Come with your questions and ideas, listening is great but you have to network until your satisfied even if it’s 5:30 am

    Pat

  33. Ron Herman says:

Dude, you seriously understate the amount of consultation and value you (and the others) proffered, not only from the stage but one-to-one as well.

I meant what I said over the microphone there. It was a totally unselfish event, though I am sure it bought you immeasurable goodwill and a “tribal” following that will endure.

Hell, even after your all-nighter (which I am far too old to do) and then all day at the event, we sat and exchanged yarns and strategies for several more hours.

That’s the beauty of these events for marketers though. In the real world nobody understands us.

Other Earthlings ask “what do you do for a living?” and I evade the question to avoid ten more. My usual canned response goes something like “everybody I can and the easy ones twice” just to avoid the thousand yard stare and the Q and A session that follows.

So, when I get a chance to interface with someone who “gets it” I’m all over it. It was great getting to know you and if I can ever be of any help to you don’t hesitate to ask. I look forward to connecting with you in the future.

I will shoot you the photos I shot and I do hope to connect with you soon.

    Stay Ninja,

    Ron

  34. Ross Brezovar says:

Jason, I went to the event with only one focus, and that was to network!! And of all the speakers before the event, I only knew of you and James Jones. So, I was excited to get the chance to learn of the other awesome speakers from your group, as well as meet so many participants that I believe will be long time friends and future partners!

It was unfortunate that I did not get to spend that time with you and the gang, as I would have enjoyed it! However, I was lucky enough to have forged some great relationships and networked with two of the speakers that I had not known about prior; Matt and John Rhodes!

Nothing replaces having face to face discussions with people that I aspire to be like, in both financial success, integrity, and brilliance! Everyone was just incredibly approachable, making this much different than most of these events.

So, I hit my goal for this event, and have now started working on my next goal: to be at the 2nd annual event as a speaker! If you missed this one, DO NOT miss the next…or the next…or the next!

    Warmest regards from the islands!
    Ross

  35. I find everything that you do quite intense and enjoy everything that you get involved in. What you bring to the table is an asset to all. When it comes to intensity I would say you are at the top of the marketer list and that is why people want to listen to what you have to say. Promotional advertising can be quite consuming at times even for the elite, but what you bring to the table can be quite invitng. Wish I could have been there!

Great post Jason! I am really disappointed that I couldn’t make it this time, but I’ll definitely try and hook up with you at another live event later this year. :)

Attending live events is definitely something I recommend to anyone who is serious about Internet marketing and has been one of the best investments I have made in my own business.

Keep up the great work Jason! Can’t wait to watch the recordings. :)

Thanks for the info you give. Yes seminars are good to get us up and running. The main thing is to implement what we learn, otherwise it may be a waist of time. But at least we meet people, feel good and hopefully have a good time.

  38. Clayman says:

I was there in the room both days for the entire event….behind the lens. I was a streamer who caught everything except the bar/personal experience. It was great for me. All the speakers did great to interact with each other’s different styles and businesses. I am kinda surprised anyone when to bed in Vegas. Excellence!

    Clayman

  39. Michael Martin says:

I saw the second day on the stream. It was great stuff. I can’t wait to get the stream from that.

  40. Jason,
Thanks for a great event. Really enjoyed it.

I got the definite feeling that someday we’ll be saying “I knew Jason when he only charged $97 for a two-day event” — and no one will believe us.

    Cheers,
    - Dennis

  41. James Brown says:

    Hey Jason,

It’s great to hear you did a conference with all content. It’s the sort of thing I would love to attend or hear. Every teleconference, I signup for and I’ve done a lot of them…give little content.

As a matter of fact I’m listening to one later tonight and I made notes about what is supposed to be discussed. This time, if it’s a lot of nonsense, I am going to call the folks running it.

Keep up the good work, always look forward to your emails.
    James

  42. Congratulations, Jason, on your successful seminar! I was lucky enough to be at your FIRST seminar when it all started right here in Austin.

I soooo agree – I’m always amazed at a live event when everyone runs to their room to watch the same TV programs they could have watched at home while they eat alone with room service – and all of the “gurus” gather in the bar. Hmmm, wonder HOW they got to be so successful?

    Enjoy your success!

    Jeanette

  43. Ahhh man, I didn’t even get an email about it and I am on your list.

    $97 for a seminar. Dang

And I missed it. Dang (twice) :D

  44. Alan Clark says:

That was a great post. I enjoyed the part when you are talking about X just jumping out of nowhere.

My X has just recently jumped out.

I have found myself in a highly targeted niche with 900 opt-ins and 3000 monthly traffic. I know this isn’t on your scale but I can see the potential.

And I set this up a while ago and forgot about it for a few weeks.

Just about to start a membership for my blog and charge a nominal monthly fee, and Im just going to keep doing what I’m doing.

I “know” its going to work, and posts like this really give you a boost when you start to doubt yourself.

    Cheers Jason

  45. Jay Boyer says:

HARD & SMART…HARD & SMART…I missed you in the bar Jason. Won’t be sleeping next time in Chicago. Just got two promotions lined up with Tim and James as the result of my not-so-crazy weekend in Vegas.

No more wimpy sh**…Gonna make it work.

    Many Thanks,

    Jay

  46. Jason – let’s be real. That was well over $1000 in free consultation. :)

Frankly, I’m just amazed that people seemed so shocked when we told them how late we stayed up. This stuff is my passion, and I love sharing it with people who share that same passion.

That’s what I came for, and that’s what I got – from the speakers at the front of the room to the standing crowd in the back, to the bar in the casino lobby WELL after the event had “ended”.

Sometimes just working on our various businesses and projects can make that flame of passion and desire for success kind of sputter and fade until it’s as weak as a candle in the dark of night.

Sometimes you just have to go and SHARE it with like minded people because let me tell you – it stokes that flame of passion and desire. If fans it, spreads it, grows it. A flicker becomes a flame, the flame becomes a bonfire, and you come home with an inferno in your gut and best of all…

… a PLAN in your pocket. A plan to make it all happen. But to execute the plan needs work, and work needs fuel. For me: events like this are FUEL.

    Rocket fuel.

But anyways, I digress. :) I’ve been a follower, fan, and customer for quite some time. I’m happy now to call you a friend as well. Take care, and keep in touch!

  47. Michael says:

    Jason,

I can say without any hesitation that I would rather meet you in person than almost anyone else on Planet Earth. You have done more than all the other “guru’s” combined to jump-start my business. I’d like to say thank you in person.

    Michael

  48. Marc says:

    Thoughts? Yeah…

Hook it up with some live footage, my man!

Not the whole thing, of course, that would be over the top insane.

But at least a little teaser footage so we can take a sneak peak and peer inside the mind of the man on stage. I’d bet you’d have us chomping at the bit for it to go next time. With a little taste of “being there.”

    That would be awesome.

    Peace.

    Hi Jason

Great post, and glad you event went well.
I would have loved to be there, with all you guys that I regularly keep an eye on:), only to stay ahead of the curve.

I can only just imagine the energy with the kind of team that you had in place.

Just watching your webinars is enough to make me laugh smile and get focused !

Keep up the fantastic stuff you keep producing

    Thanks

  50. Mike Antoni says:

Great post Jason. I love events. I’ve been to about 5 myself and did 3 with a few of my partners. You are so right. The people you meet, the relationships you make. It’s worth way more than the price of admission.

I still can’t believe you did this event for $97 and didn’t pitch. You are sure to reap the rewards of that gift for years to come.

If I had the time to be there I would have come out. It sounds like it was a blast and I can guarantee I would have been there with the 6 of you all night asking and answering questions.

    Blessings,
    Mike Antoni
